Summer, unknown time, age 17
I went to the Iliad Pass in the Water Tribe today. I'd been asked to help with the training of a few Benders by Cheif Nukit and of course I accepted. When I got there, after thanking the Flying Bison Wi Sho I'd borrowed from my friend Hima, I was greeted with applause. Applause. What did I have to be congratulated about? It was only a demonstration.
Chief Nukit was so glad I'd come. He held a feast in my honor. It was a feast, Diary! All the Water Tribe nobles were in their best dress, eating fine food and drinking wine. And there I was, in a peasant's dress, all red and black, standing out like a cabbage cart in the meat district of Jookahn, and no one even cared. I don't know about this, Diary. I'm not sure I am ready to accept all this. I mean, I was a daughter of a cellist in the Fire Lord's symphony. Then BOOM! I was hauled away to be trained without even knowing why. I don't understand. I don't have any noble blood! No, actually, I had a great-aunt who was sister-in-law to the Fire Lord's nephew. It's confusing, I know. I think her sister was a half-sister, and married His Majesty's nephew, and there was a scandal or something...
I might have to go to the Great Library, I am interested in this now. It almost makes me forget that I am the most powerful Bender in the world and so I have to deal with everyone's problems who are too lazy to deal with them themselves.
See?! I am not even worthy of this great honor! I'm a brat! Oh, yeah, anyway.. So Master Rysu introduces me to the Benders after the feast, you know, in the Pass and everyone claps and claps and whistles and I get up in front of them and I have no idea what to do. The people in this class were fourteen, fifteen, basically my age! How much more Bending could I know?! But so Master Rysu kind of urges me on and I get into the rythmn of it and just Bend, you know. And they ooh and aah and then Master Rysu stands up there with me and matches all my movements. He really is incredible. I remember when he trained me, it was so hard at first because of the negative-positive of water and fire. But anyway... they all learned the move I taught and they demonstrated it at the end of the day and for the most part they did well. One of the boys came up to me, he was seventeen like me and the junior apprentice of Master Rysu (that means he was the protege or something--I didn't get it either) and he gave me an ice rose that he'd Bent and thanked me, then walked away. I didn't even get his name.
I'll have to get his name and return the favor, I can't have the world thinking that I am stuck-up and expect things in return for all the work I do. I'm the Avatar! It's my job.
You know what, Diary? I don't mind it anymore. [/size][/blockquote]
